Kanokla purchased the building in 1990. That decision involved stewardship and the belief that meaningful places should be preserved, not forgotten.

More than a century after the building was first constructed, restoration work began to prepare the upstairs hall for modern community use. 2022 and 2023 restorations honored the past by preserving the original pine floors and decorative tin ceilings while installing grand chandeliers. These details carry the craftsmanship of another era and keep the building’s story visible for future generations.

At the same time, Kanokla updated some features to provide more comfort and functionality for today’s gatherings. Improvements included advanced connectivity, high quality audio and visual capabilities, elevator accessibility, a catering kitchen, and overnight lodging. The goal was simple: protect the history while ensuring the space remains active and welcoming for years to come.
